The Pekinese is a dog of Chinese origin. The dog was once a companion dog for the Chinese nobles. However, the dog is not just a lap dog. They are incredibly watchful, brave and alert. The Pekinese is a loyal dog. It is truly a friend for life. As loyal as these dogs are to their boss, they are distrustful of strangers.
